“34, Studying for my Masters in Music Performance. I’ve been writing poetry since I was about 15.
My poetry is my diary of sorts. It’s a coded diary one could say. We live in a world that doesn’t allow for sensitivity and humanity. So we all adapt to survive in this world. My poetry is where my sensitivity is expressed.
As to the song, I had heard John Lennon’s ‘Beautiful Boy’ and thought of one of my many friends who speak to me of their lives and what causes them pain. I wanted to write something in the same vein, but didn’t want it to be too melancholy if possible. I wanted to capture the sadness, yet be able to hold to hope. For I believe hope is important.“
